Traditional manual dosing relies on manual experience to control the dosage, which often leads to problems such as inaccurate dosing, serious drug waste, unstable operation effect and high labor cost. In response to these industry pain points, the automatic dosing device has achieved a comprehensive upgrade in technology and function, realizing the integration of drug storage, dissolution, metering, dosing, monitoring and control, and fundamentally solving the drawbacks of traditional dosing methods.

Ⅰ.Standard Structural Components of Automatic Dosing System

①.Chemical Storage & Dissolving System

  • Liquid: PE/304/316 stainless steel storage tanks, equipped with float/ultrasonic level meters and low-level alarm.
  • Dry powder: Three-chamber type (dissolving–ripening–storage), with dry powder feeder, spray premixing device and agitator (60–150 rpm) to ensure uniform concentration.
  • Materials: PE (general use), 316L stainless steel (highly corrosive media), PVDF (strong acids and alkalis).

②.Metering & Dosing System

The core component is a metering pump (mainly diaphragm pump, corrosion-resistant and leak-free; plunger pump for high-pressure applications), with adjustable flow via frequency conversion/stroke, accuracy ±1%.
Supporting components: pulse damper, back-pressure valve, check valve, Y-type filter, safety valve.

③.Control System

PLC + touch screen, connected to pH/ORP/residual chlorine/turbidity/conductivity/flow sensors, realizing flow-proportional dosing, water quality closed-loop control, and fixed-time/fixed-quantity dosing.
Supports manual/automatic switching, remote communication (Modbus/4G), and fault alarms (low liquid level, pump overload, over-limit).

④.Piping & Skid

UPVC/PVC/stainless steel piping, integrated on a common base for easy installation.

Ⅱ.Working Principle
  1. Set target parameters (e.g., pH=7.5, residual chlorine 0.3–0.5 mg/L);
  2. Sensors collect real-time data and transmit it to the PLC;
  3. When a deviation occurs, the PLC calculates the adjustment amount and controls the metering pump frequency/stroke;
  4. The dissolving system automatically performs water replenishment, chemical dosing, and stirring; low liquid level triggers chemical replenishment/shutdown protection;
  5. Re-detection is carried out after dosing, with continuous dynamic fine-tuning to form a closed loop.

Ⅲ. Typical Application Scenarios

  • Municipal Water Treatment: Coagulation and sedimentation (PAC), disinfection (sodium hypochlorite / chlorine dioxide) in water plants; phosphorus removal, sludge dewatering (PAM) in sewage treatment plants.
  • Industrial Circulating Water: Dosing of scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors and bactericides for central air conditioning / cooling systems.
  • Industrial Wastewater: Acid-base neutralization, flocculation and decolorization for electroplating, printing and dyeing, chemical industry and food processing.
  • Others: Disinfection of swimming pools / landscape water, deaeration of boiler water, scale inhibition in seawater desalination.

Ⅳ. Routine Maintenance 

  • Maintenance: Check liquid level and operation status daily; clean filters weekly; calibrate sensors and inspect pump diaphragms monthly; replace vulnerable parts regularly to avoid blockage caused by chemical crystallization.
